After last weekend’s crucial win against Chelsea, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will know it is all about keeping up the momentum to sustain their imposing lead over rivals Liverpool at top of the Premier League table.

They will be facing Southampton this weekend; a team who they dropped points at home to back in September so this won’t, by any means, be a walk in the park.

In terms of team news, Nathan Ake is available for the trip to St Mary’s, but both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Cole Palmer are carrying knocks so the pair will not feature. Riyad Mahrez is still away at the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Play Southampton

Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo, Gundogan, Rodri, Silva, Sterling, Jesus, Foden

Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl could have both Theo Walcott and Mohamed Elyounoussi back available after they recovered from the virus. Valentino Livramento (knee) and William Smallbone (calf) have been ruled out, while Moussa Djenepo is at AFCON.

Southampton’s Predicted XI:

Forster, Tella, Bednarek, Lyanco, Salisu, Perraud, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Diallo, Broja, Adams

The bookmakers have made City the favourites with Coral pricing them at 3/10 for the win. A draw is 11/2 with Bet 365 while a victory for the Saints is 10/1 at Sky Bet.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to City
